Medium: Oil indirect method
Size: 24" X 12"
Artist: Judy Vars
Price: 498.00
This is a modern icon which copies a fourteenth-century Serbo-Byzantine icon.
The slim elongated figure renders her seemingly weightless. Many coats of paint were glazed on giving it a rich laquered finish. She shines like a jewel.

I will then send an invoice to your e-mail address, and we go from there.

wow... thats beautiful!
she is so fabulous.
I hope she finds the perfect home.
Happy Thanksgiving. xp
ps. what is the indirect method of oil painting?
Hi Patti,
Indirect is painting in layers, you start with an underpainting then add layers letting each one dry before painting the next one. You get a richer painting. It's the way old time painters like Rembrandt got the drama. And several layers of varnish add to the beauty.
Thank you!
and Happy Thanksgiving to you also, inspite of it all we still have much to be grateful for.
